Verity Price is in New York City to see if she can make it as a ballroom dancer, and to keep up the family tradition of crptozoology. Sometimes that means protecting humans from the monsters; sometimes the reverse. It’s a delicate balancing act. So when a representative from the order of monster-killing fanatics known as the Covenant shows up, things start to get REALLY complicated. Someone — or something — is killing local cryptids, and the only person Verity can trust is her enemy. Her distractingly attractive enemy.
Light and breezey, with an ending I found surprisingly moving and a truly inspired mouse chorus. Recommended.
