DESCRIPTION:Yes, it's true.  Brandon Sanderson is coming to town.  Cue the squeee!!    On Friday February 15th, Brandon will be in Toronto to celebrate the launch of  A Memory Of Light.  Since the event promises to be huge, and we didn't want anyone huddling outside in the cold, we're hosting it offsite in the basement of the Lillian H. Smith library at 239 College (at Huron, just east of Spadina).  The event begins at 7pm.  Doors will open at 6pm, and it'll be first come, first seated.    A few points of information:    - This is a free event, no tickets or registration required.    - You aren't required to buy the book from us in order to attend, though of course we'd love it if you did.  We'll definitely have copies of A Memory Of Light available for sale that night, along with Brandon's other titles.    - Given the size of the event, we're going to set a limit of 3 books signed per trip through the line (and remember: Brandon's books. Not Robert Jordan's). Then you can rejoin the line, and get more books signed if time permits.    -Books signed?  Definitely.  Memorabilia?  Bring it on.  Body parts?  Er, no thank you.  And yes, you can take photographs.    - It's going to be AWESOME!

DESCRIPTION:Come out and spend an evening with British Horror/comics writer Mike Carey.    After a start writing for the British comic magazine 2000AD, Mike wrote the entire run of the Eisner-nominated comic Lucifer -- a story about the devil's quest for autonomy in a deterministic universe -- for DC/Vertigo, as well as a 40 issue run of Hellblazer.  He is an ongoing writer for DC, Marvel, and independent comics.    Mr. Carey's first prose novel was The Devil You Know,  a horror/mystery starring freelance exorcist Felix Castor.  Four  sequels have since followed.  Mr. Carey will talk about his work and  read from his latest novel.
