Please join us here at the store at 7pm on Tuesday June 21st to celebrate both the start of summer and Guy Gavriel Kay‘s newest book Children Of Earth And Sky.

Guy has donated a SPECTACULAR prize: a gorgeous leatherbound edition of Children Of Earth And Sky, one of only 10 copies in existence. We’ll hold a draw for it after his reading; you have to be here to win (and, y’know, to enjoy the party and all).

Fan Fiction Panel Discussion

Tonight at 7pm the Friends of the Merril will host a panel discussion on Fan Fiction. Join author panelists Madeline Ashby, Kelly Robson, Gemma Files and Léonicka and hear why they take time off from writing for a living to write fanfic for fun. Discussion will be moderated by Léonicka.

This event, located in the 3rd floor reading room of the Merril Collection, Lillian H. Smith library (239 College Street, at Huron), is free and open to everyone.
